No hay nada más curioso en el mar que los grandes cardúmenes de peces: esos enormes grupos formados por miles y miles de individuos, moviéndose de forma perfectamente coordinada y sintónica, como si fueran una sola mente abstracta y común de monstruosas proporciones.

Esto fue lo que captaron habitantes de Cabo San Lucas en la Marina causando gran asombro a pesar de que es su hábitat natural, pero que debido al gran movimiento de embarcaciones no se había dado este espectáculo.

La conformación de cardúmenes obedece a varios criterios biológicos.

Cuando los peces se desplazan en conjunto, mejoran su defensa contra posibles depredadores y a su vez, incrementan sus propias posibilidades de obtener alimentos.
